Listening to the Milford Sound

Te Anau is a lovely small city but a tourist magnet due to its favourable situation. From here it is the easiest way to go to the fjord Milford Sound. Although Stefan has already been there, he had to go there again because it’s so beautiful. Therefore we took a cycling break of two days.

On our second day of break we were brought to Milford Sound (it was still about 120 km) where our boat left. Once again we were lucky regarding the weather and we could enjoy the fjordy landscape by sunny blue sky. Really beautiful!

The next day we started cycling back towards Queenstown, this time via the normal road. This time the weather wasn’t that great, it was a bit cold and therefore Alexandras knee started hurting again. So we were pretty happy to stop after a ride of 100 km and camp at a small camp site in the middle of  nowhere.
After a calm night we could cycle in warm sunny weather again, always along the Lake Wakatipu which was just brilliant. Also we reached 9.000 cycled kilometers that day, yaaay! 🙂

In the evening we wanted to stay at the same camp site in Frankton as last time, but this time is was fully booked. There was a lot going on in Queenstown that night! As Alexandra was close to tears – we had already cycled more than 80 km and weren’t fond of cycling any more that day – they found a small place for us. 🙂
